A new naming rights partnership announced for 2027 and beyond as Batemans Bay prepares for more forest action and rallying after dark. The Rally of the Bay is heading into an exciting new chapter, with PIAA announced as the event’s naming rights partner for 2027 and beyond.
Returning to Batemans Bay on Saturday 31 July 2027, the PIAA Rally of the Bay will build on the foundations of previous events, bringing competitors, officials and rally fans together for another memorable weekend on the NSW South Coast. Organised by North Shore Sporting Car Club (NSSCC), the rally will again combine the region’s fast, challenging forest roads with the atmosphere and hospitality that make a trip to the Bay a highlight of the rally calendar.
With several stages again planned for the evening, the new partnership is a natural fit. As daylight fades, accurate notes, committed driving and quality lighting will all play their part. Kirk Marks, representing PIAA in Australia, said the partnership provided an exciting opportunity to connect the brand again with the Australian rally community.
“PIAA is excited to secure the naming rights partnership for the Rally of the Bay in 2027 and beyond,” Marks said. “The PIAA Rally of the Bay will again offer several stages in the evening, where teams will need quality lighting to achieve the best possible results. It is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our lighting technology in the conditions it was designed for. PIAA’s complete range of driving lights, LED globes, silicone wipers, horns and oil filters is now available throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific through our authorised distributor, Race and Rally Australia.
“We’re excited to make that complete range available to Australian motoring enthusiasts and to also support the people who make this event possible. In 2027, PIAA will provide great PIAA prizes for winning teams, officials and others associated with the rally.”
NSSCC President Nigel Bland welcomed the partnership, saying PIAA’s commitment was an exciting boost for the event and its organising team.
“Having PIAA on board as our naming rights partner is fantastic news for Rally of the Bay,” Bland said. There’s a great connection between a brand with PIAA’s rallying heritage and an event where competing after dark is part of the challenge and the appeal. We’re proud of what we delivered in 2026, but we’re certainly not standing still. Competitors and fans can expect the forest roads, evening stages, welcoming atmosphere and coverage they enjoyed this year—and we’re working hard to deliver even more in 2027. Just as importantly, PIAA’s support extends beyond the winning crews to recognise our officials and the people behind the scenes. They are the backbone of the rally, and it’s terrific to have a partner who wants to celebrate their contribution.”
Planning is underway for the return of the Bay Stages, Bay Ramble and Regularity formats, continuing the event’s appeal to a broad range of competitors, from outright contenders and classic rally crews to those enjoying the challenge of regularity competition.
Spectator opportunities, an accessible service park and extensive digital coverage will again help fans get close to the cars, follow the competition and enjoy the stories unfolding throughout the field. Further details about the route, event programme, entries and spectator arrangements will be announced as planning progresses.
