Competitors at the 2026 Lazer Rally of the Bay will have the opportunity to test their cars under both daylight and night-time conditions, with entries now open for the event’s official Friday Shakedown. The Shakedown will be held on Friday, 24th July, from 2:30 pm until 6:30 pm, ahead of the third round of the Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship in Batemans Bay on Saturday.
With the session continuing after sunset, the Lazer Rally of the Bay is expected to offer one of the few after-dark rally shakedowns held in Australia. Event Director Nigel Bland said the extended session would provide competitors with a valuable opportunity to test their cars, refine their setup and prepare for the demanding South Coast forest roads.
“An after-dark Shakedown is something quite unique to our event and gives competitors the chance to test their cars in conditions they would not normally experience during a pre-event session,” Bland said. “It will be a great opportunity for teams to make sure everything is working correctly before the rally and, importantly, to test their lighting systems as daylight fades.”
The Shakedown stage will be 2.88 kilometres in length, with each complete loop covering approximately 5.06 kilometres, as detailed in the official Shakedown Roadbook.
The entry fee is $350 per vehicle and is payable within the Wolf Sports entry portal: https://wolfsports.co/au/rally/event/lazer-rally-of-the-bay
To reduce the additional requirements placed on officials and ensure the session operates safely and efficiently, passenger rides will not be permitted. Only registered competitors and crew members listed in the approved vehicle entry will be allowed to participate.
The Friday Shakedown will lead into the 2026 Lazer Rally of the Bay, a single-day event based in Batemans Bay on Saturday, 25th July. The rally is Round Three of the Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship and also includes rounds of the NSW Clubman Rally Series, the East Coast Classic Rally Series, the ACT Regional Rally Series and a Regularity Rally competition.
