Khanacross Action Returns to Portland on Sunday 22 March

By Khanacross, News, Yvonne Martyn Memorial Motorsport Park

Grassroots motorsport fans have something to look forward to with Khanacross action returning to Yvonne Martyn Motorsport Park in Portland, NSW.

In partnership with the Lithgow District Car Club, members of the North Shore Sporting Car Club are invited to take part in a full day of fun, affordable motorsport on Sunday 22nd March 2026.

Khanacross is one of the best entry points into motorsport. It is all about car control, precision and having a good time behind the wheel. It is suitable for a wide range of cars and experience levels, making it ideal for both newcomers and seasoned drivers looking for a relaxed day of driving.

The organising team has been busy preparing the venue and giving the courses a fresh new look. With updated layouts and plenty of driving time expected throughout the day, it promises to be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy grassroots motorsport in a welcoming environment.

Competitors can take advantage of an earlybird discount if they enter before the deadline.

Entry Fees

  • Earlybird Discount – $10 (ends 20/03/2026)

  • Senior Entry – $60 ($50 if you take advantage of the discount)

Working Bee at Yvonne Martyn Memorial Motorsport Park – Come Lend a Hand!

We’re heading out to the Yvonne Martyn Memorial Motorsport Park this weekend for a Working Bee in conjunction with the Lithgow District Car Club, and I’d really like to encourage members to come along — not just to help out, but to see the venue for yourselves without any pressure to compete.

With a big 2026 season ahead, this is the perfect chance to explore the motorsport complex at your own pace, get familiar with the layout, and get a feel for the place before the events start rolling.

We’ll be kicking off from 10:00am, and you’re welcome to drop in at any time.

On the agenda for Saturday:

  • Building tyre walls
  • Looking over a couple of club cars
  • Setting up some of the khanacross tracks for March
  • General tidy‑up and prep around the venue

You don’t need to bring machinery — unless someone happens to have a bobcat handy, we’re well covered.

Most importantly, this is a relaxed, no‑pressure day. If you’ve been curious about the venue, thinking about competing, or just want to see what’s happening out at Portland, this is the ideal opportunity.

There may also be a chance for a bit of practice on Sunday, once the main jobs are done — nothing formal, just an easy way to turn a wheel and get comfortable with the space.

It would be great to see as many members as possible come out, have a look around, and be part of getting the venue ready for a big year ahead.
